Our Work

At Charge For Change, our work is grounded in justice, driven by community, and focused on creating measurable environmental improvements in the neighborhoods that need it most. We work at the grassroots and policy levels to create tangible, long-term change that connects people to clean energy—specifically through equitable access to electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.

Our programs are designed not only to raise awareness, but also to remove systemic barriers to participation in the clean transportation movement. We believe that real change happens when awareness leads to action—and action is grounded in equity.

Key Initiatives

⚡ EV Equity Campaigns

We lead ongoing public campaigns to educate inner-city residents about the environmental dangers of fossil fuel transportation and the benefits of transitioning to electric vehicles. Through workshops, community events, murals, and digital storytelling, we spark conversation and build awareness around climate justice and cleaner transportation futures.

Our outreach is culturally responsive, multilingual, and locally embedded. We make sure every campaign speaks with the community—not just to it.

🚗 Charging Access Now

Our flagship initiative, Charging Access Now, partners with municipalities, housing authorities, and private companies to install EV charging stations in urban neighborhoods that have historically been left out of clean infrastructure investment.

We focus on placing chargers in:

  • Apartment complexes and multi-family housing
  • Community centers, libraries, and places of worship
  • High-traffic street corridors with poor air quality

This initiative also provides job training opportunities for local youth and residents in the EV and green infrastructure fields.

🌱 Youth Environmental Leadership

We believe young people are the future of climate justice. Our Youth Environmental Leadership Program introduces high school and college students to environmental science, energy equity, and transportation justice. Through workshops, field trips, internships, and mentorship, we are building the next generation of advocates, engineers, and organizers.

🗣️ Community Voice Forums

We host regular listening sessions, policy roundtables, and storytelling events where community members can speak directly about their lived experiences with pollution, transit inequality, and their hopes for a cleaner future. These stories shape our advocacy, fuel our campaigns, and ensure our work is always community-centered.

Together, these initiatives form the foundation of our work—and your support helps us expand them to more neighborhoods, more families, and more lives.
